Race Equality Toolkit

Purpose: Taking effective steps toward race equality
Scope of application: All practising barristers and chambers
Issued by: The Bar Council
First reviewed: 04/12/2024

This toolkit is to support the Bar in taking effective action toward race equality. It breaks down the actions for chambers and organisations to take, as well as sharing good practice ideas and resources.

All of our recommendations have been drafted to be in line with the Bar Standards Board (BSB) anti-racist statement. In the statement, the BSB asks chambers to take action. The guide supports you to meet these requirements.
