Unused Material – Criminal Legal Aid Fees

Purpose: To remind criminal defence barristers to claim their legal aid fee for unused material

Criminal defence barristers are now remunerated for reading the unused material in cases where legal aid was granted on or after 17 September 2020. The Bar Council’s Remuneration Committee has produced the attached guidance note for barristers and clerks on how to claim the appropriate fee.”
